We recently had the opportunity to visit the Langhorne Carpet Co. in Penndel, PA. The Langhorne Carpet Co. is a family owned business that has been in operation since 1930 and is one of only two surviving decorative carpet mills in the country. They are currently running a student design competition that will result in a student designed carpet being put into production on a Jacquard Wilton broadloom and being made available as a finished product through the company. Visiting the mill was an eye opening experience about textile production in this country and the beauty of design and craft through industry.
